Editorial Policy

This Editorial Policy sets out the scope, standards and limits of the journalism published by Housing & Property Times ("HPT"), the bilingual English–Marathi weekly of YIIPPEE News Network ("YNN").

  1. Subject matter. HPT reports on housing, real estate, redevelopment and property law across its fixed categories — including regulatory and policy developments, redevelopment and deemed conveyance, homebuyer rights, affordable housing, society management, market and infrastructure trends, and legal judgments — as well as public grievances and disputes over land and property. Where a report concerns a dispute, it is one arising between individuals, groups, or nations over land or property; HPT does not report on disputes of any other kind.
  2. Neutrality on religion. HPT and YNN do not publish or promote any religious or anti-religious ideology, in either direction, under any circumstance. This is a standing, network-wide rule and applies irrespective of the personal beliefs of any founder, editor, contributor, or staff member.
  3. Religious-trust land. Where a story involves land held by a religious trust (Waqf, temple, church, gurudwara or similar), HPT reports on it strictly as a title, ownership or property matter. The religious character of the trust is not, and will not be, the subject of comment.
  4. Geographic scope. HPT's principal coverage area is Mumbai, Thane, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and Maharashtra generally. National or international developments are covered only where they materially affect housing, property or land rights for readers in this region.
  5. Nature of content. HPT provides journalistic information and rights-awareness on housing and property matters for general reader understanding. It does not constitute legal, financial or professional advice of any kind. Readers should consult a qualified advocate, chartered accountant or other relevant professional before acting on anything reported here.
